WOUND CARE

Wound care and healing requires expertise, skill, and 360-degree knowledge, because every wound is different.

Any break in the skin or deep tissue causes a wound. Wounds can be acute, caused by an accident or surgery, or chronic, caused by diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers or varicose ulcers. Both types of wounds require special care and different approaches to healing, or it could get delayed due to infections, nutritional deficiency, diseases in the liver, lung or kidney, treatments like chemotherapy and radiation, obesity, smoking and various other reasons.

Our home based wound care service covers everything from clinical team visit to the patient’s house, assessing the nature of wound, preparing a specialized treatment plan and providing the required care as per the plan. The wound is monitored closely to ensure that it is healing. Patient education on how to heal faster, look for signs of infection, prevent pressure ulcers, what food to eat to help the body heal, is also provided, to ensure the quickest recovery. The team also coordinates with the primary physician to update patient’s progress and take their medical opinion as & when required.

A wound care visit typically covers the following:

Assessing the wound for adequate healing

Examining the edges of wound and surrounding skin

Checking for signs of infection

Assessing the pain level

Cleaning the wound

Changing the dressing

Assess the overall condition of the patient
